I have been surveying party walls for 8 years now and have enjoyed every minute of it. I am a member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors and undertook assessments and interviews to become a member.
My job role involves representing either building owners or adjoining owners (or both, as 'agreed surveyor' and I specialise in resolving disputes between neighbours under the Act. I have a duty under the Act to resolve matters in dispute in a fair and pragmatic way, seeking a just settlement for both sides in disagreement.
I work for an RICS regulated firm and can be found on the RICS online directory of firms under Wyn Burgess' or my name.
Ann Marie's 3-Step Process
1. Before I am appoointed I explain what the process entails, what I can and cannot achieve under the Act and agree costs.
2. I will keep you informed of progress throughout the process.
3. The final documents needed to settle the dispute - the Party Wall Award is served on both sides. Building work can then begin on the Party Wall related works.

I am a Chartered Building Surveyor and Engineer with 35 years experience. My specialist job role allows me to be involved with all aspects of the property and construction fields, from supervising large mixed-use developments to planning domestic extensions. I have been in private practice for over 20 years, and I am now running an RICS registered firm in partnership with Ann Marie.
I am retained by private clients, managing agents and solicitors to carry out a variety of work including defect diagnosis, CAD drawings, calculations and schedules of works for repairs as well as pre purchase surveys for mainly residential properties.
